Fila Buster is a transhistorical figure and concept created from a desire to prod postmodern dance’s notion of the neutral body and translate choreographic material into a living, breathing subjectivity. The performance utilized Steve Paxton’s small dance as well as a rapid-fire speech that called her body into existence. The performance space was shared with Rafa Esparza creating opportunity for our two works to overlap.
