2013

Performed at Danspace as part of Solo and Solitude.

Invited by the performance scholars Jenn Joy and Noémie Solomon, three choreographers respond, in solo form, to “Le Danseur des Solitudes,” a 2006 text by the French philosopher Georges Didi-Huberman. Despite the common source, their interests vary widely, from notions of vulnerability in Ms. Clark’s “Accessories of Protection,” to pop-culture fads like Zumba (a window onto weightier issues) in Ms. Paggett’s “Private Realness,” to questions of inheritance in Ms. Gravel’s “Ma Mère est un Mâle Alpha” (“My Mother Is an Alpha Male”).
